My Inspired Blue Ribbon Oatmeal Cookies

First impressions sell a house.  Serve these at your open house and make your house smell of freshly baked cookies.

Next to the cookies, please post a sign listing all of the ingredients, warning adults supervising children to check the ingredients first, and gently asking those who have food allergies and sensitivities not to partake in homemade cookies baked in your kitchen.  Second, ask your real estate agent's advice on serving the cookies.

Ingredients

1 cup sugar                                                            1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup light brown sugar                                     1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 cup room temperature butter                      11/2 cups flour

2 eggs                                                                      3 cups oatmeal

1/2 teaspoon salt                                                    1 teaspoon real vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Directions - Yields Around 34 Cookies

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Make sure your butter is room temperature.  Using a mixer, cream sugar and butter.  Add eggs.  Add vanilla.   In large bowl, blend all dry ingredients.  Pour half of dry ingredients into  sugar and butter mixture.  Mix.  Then, add other half.  Mix again.  Using a cookie scooper,  scoop cookie dough onto parchment paper lined cookie sheets.  Bake for 10-12 minutes depending on whether you like them chewy or crisp.  Store in container in freezer for any unused cookies for one week. Do not eat or store unbaked cookie dough.

Enjoy, and I hope the smell of homemade cookies sells your house.  Best of luck!!
